Mike McNally graduated in Civil Engineering from Queen's
University at Kingston with a BSc (honours) in 1968.
Mr. McNally was President, Chief Engineer and Estimator of that firm
and its subsidiaries until 2009 when he retired from full time work.
At that time C&M's annual volume had grown to $30,000,000
and the firm had successfully completed tunnel projects for water supply,
sewers, and utilities through out southern Ontario, the maritimes and
a limited amount in the USA. He is a Past President of the
Greater Toronto Sewer and Watermain Contractors Association (GTSWCA).
GTSWCA is the Ontario Labour Relations Board accredited Agent for the Sewer and Watermain Sector of the Construction Industry in the Toronto Area. For many years Mr.McNally chaired the Association's Labour Negotiation Committee. This experience has given Mr. McNally a good understanding of
the organization of the workers who do the tunnelling work in Toronto.

Mr. McNally also served on committees to update the Ministry of Labour's Construction Health and Safety Regulations where they relate to tunnelling
and on the CSA committee for Hyperbaric work. Mr. McNally was fortunate
to have joined the tunnel industry in the 1970's. In that decade
the first successful tunnel boring machines where being introduced.
Consequently he worked during the transition from manual to
mechanized methods and collected a wide practical understanding of
tunnel construction; equipment, methods and problem solving.
